Bruce VeenstraBRUCE VEENSTRA
Senior Consultant

Bruce has been working full time in regional theatre for nearly 20 years as Technical Director at the San Diego Repertory, Cleveland Playhouse and Monomoy Theatre, and as a Carpenter at North Carolina Shakespeare festival, Santa Fe Opera and a Commercial scene shop in New York City.

Bruce spent the 13 years prior to joining The Shalleck Collaborative with the Tony Award winning Berkeley Repertory Theatre, originally as Technical Director producing many exciting shows over 3 years. Bruce then moved up to Production Manager / Project Manager overseeing all production departments and managing the construction of the new Roda Theatre, a $21 million, 600-seat proscenium house. Bruce also orchestrated the purchase and installation of all the new theatre equipment for the new theatre building.

After 4 years as Production Manager he became Director of Operations. There he learned and handled the rest of the systems within the facilities and oversaw many special construction projects including recovering from a fire that destroyed Berkeley Rep’s scene shop by planning and administering the tenant improvements of a 17,000 square foot warehouse. Bruce has a BFA from North Carolina School of the Arts in Technical Direction.

After serving in several posts, Bruce also serves on a congregational council team at his church, where he also sings in the Choir.
