About
Erik Carter, AIA, joined The Shalleck Collaborative in 2017 fresh from completing the Master's of Architecture program at the University of Oregon. Erik’s education and career began on the performance side of the theatre as a musician. This led to a passion for sound production and pursuit of an Audio Engineering degree from the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences. His professional experience includes employment within Los Angeles’ commercial recording studio environment, fifteen years of experience as a licensed installer of sound and lighting systems across the United States, and the accumulation of nearly two dozen industry-related certifications. Erik sees his work as theatre design consultant as the unique opportunity to combine his passion and in-depth knowledge of music, audio engineering, lighting, and acoustics with a passion for designing great performance spaces.
