We are looking for an AV Draftsperson!


The Shalleck Collaborative, Inc. offers comprehensive consulting services in the planning and design of spaces for the performing arts, theatre production systems and Audio-Visual Systems. Based out of our offices in Berkeley, California and Portland, Oregon, our multi-disciplinary team of seventeen is composed of architects, AV specialists, and theatre production, design, and technical professionals.


We are currently seeking a full-time, audio-visual draftsperson and production team member to support design and documentation on our AV (Audio/Visual), production, and teaching space projects. Those with experience in theatrical and/or architectural drafting and a passion for technical theatre will be considered. Most important is the ability to work collaboratively with our team spread across the West Coast and with our architect/engineering partners while maintaining an efficient, systematic, focused work process with an eye for detail.


AV Draftsperson Position Description


Primary Duties

  • Drafting Audio-Visual drawings for ongoing and future projects in Autodesk Revit & Autodesk AutoCAD

  • Drawing reviews of architectural and electrical drawings

  • Assistance with continuous drawing systems development

  • Attending surveys and visits to project sites

  • Reviewing of shop drawings for current projects

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Formal training in computer aided drafting in any software

  • Work experience in audio-visual, theatre, architecture and/or engineering

  • Time management skills

  • Organizational skills

  • Excellent attention to detail, especially during pressure of deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office

  • Willingness to learn on the job

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Thrives in a highly collaborative environment that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and access, and works effectively with people of varied backgrounds, experiences, and points of view.

Preferred Candidates will also have the following

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in an associated field. (eg. Theatre Tech, Architecture, Design, etc.) or equivalent work experience

  • Professional drafting experience

  • Theatrical work experience

  • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Vectorworks, Dynamo or Python

  • Experience with remote or hybrid work


This is a salaried, full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package. Some travel may be required from time to time, but not more than 5% of the work year. This position can work in person at our Berkeley office, hybrid, or fully remote, but located in California or Oregon. Starting salary is $60,000 per year plus benefits (based on a Bay Area residency).
